“… He was going to make all the payments that he promised. They (lenders) also demanded a six-month interest in advance which my father provided by selling his Powai office,” Mansi told ANI. She also revealed that her father was going to ‘make all payments that he had promised’.
Mansi asserted that the lending business misled him by providing “false assurances” before filing a lawsuit.
Desai’s daughter also revealed that the studio was closed as the industry was affected due to the pandemic. This led to a delay in some regular payments. “Even after that, he repeatedly made attempts to meet with the company to negotiate with them for restructuring or some kind of leeway so he could still finish paying what he owed. The company gave him false assurances and started legal proceedings on the side,” she said.
She asked the media to stop making disparaging remarks about her father and to get their approval before publishing any material. Desai’s daughter also asked the Maharashtra government to investigate the situation and take over ND Studios by his final wishes.
