Right To Repair is pointless without limiting profits #tech #shorts #technology #pc

Over the past few years, I’ve spent thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours fighting for right to repair, and I gave up. As long as corporations are free to markup their parts as much as they want, it doesn’t matter how easy your device is to repair. Whether it’s a computer battery or other tech , they will just price the replacement parts to make it beyond economical repair. What’s the point of spending $150 on a battery for a device that’s worth $150? It’s my biggest obstacle when refurbishing used laptops for resale. Thankfully the desktop pc market doesn’t have this issue, but nearly every other piece of technology does. If it uses a battery, it’s going to eventually need a new one.
