FATHER ARRESTED: 4-year-old girl killed, mother and toddler critically hurt in Jacksonville shooting

A Jacksonville neighborhood is mourning the loss of a 4-year-old girl who was killed in a shooting that also left her mother and 2-year-old sister critically injured. According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, patrol officers responded just before 5 p.m. June 30 to a home on Traci Lynn Drive on the city's Northside, where they found a 27-year-old woman and her two young daughters suffering from gunshot wounds. The 4-year-old girl died at the scene. The woman and the 2-year-old girl were taken to local hospitals with life-threatening injuries, according to the sheriff's office. Investigators said a dispute occurred outside the home between the woman and 29-year-old Trudale Reed. During the argument, Reed allegedly fired multiple rounds, striking the woman and both children before fleeing the area in a stolen SUV. Detectives with the sheriff's office identified Reed as the suspect and broadcast a description of the vehicle. Members of the Community Problem Response Team later located the SUV, stopped it using a vehicle block and detained Reed. He was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries before being arrested.
