What does Bob Woodward think of all this? Colby Itkowitz poses that question to the renowned Washington Post journalist in his first sit-down interview about President Donald Trump since Trump’s second inauguration. 

Over 50 years ago, Woodward’s reporting of the break-in at the Watergate with his colleague Carl Bernstein exposed the Nixon administration’s plan to spy on and sabotage his political adversaries and the cover-up that followed. After President Richard Nixon’s resignation, Congress would go on to enact new limits on presidential power, which Trump is now challenging. 
In the years since Watergate, Bob Woodward has continued to report on presidents – interviewing Trump and writing three books about him that reveal the president’s approach to power.

“So much of it is Trump just asserted himself, taking on the role of the courts, taking on the role of Congress,” Woodward told Itkowitz. “So we are entering a moment where there is going to be a clash of those traditions and laws and Trump's will.”

Trump has put massive tariffs on every single country in the world. This is the largest sales tax increase in American history. There is a baseline 10% tariff on all goods regardless of country, but some countries have higher tariffs than others. Japan has a 24% tariff. The European Union got a 20% tariff, the UK 10%, Australia 10%, Switzerland 31%. China 34%, Vietnam 46%, India 26%, South Korea 25%, Israel 17%, the list goes on and on. The dollar has now collapsed in value and the stock market has totally tanked and it’s not even open, it’s tanking during after hours trading… So when the market opens tomorrow, it’s going to be a bloodbath. Economists say that trillions of dollars will be wiped from the US economy tomorrow. These are not reciprocal tariffs because Trump is counting VAT taxes as tariffs, and they simply aren’t tariffs. Because in reality, the EU’s tariffs are only slightly higher than the US’s default 2% tariff…  so he’s counting the VAT to try to justify this. These tariffs are higher than the Smoot-Hawley tariffs which sent the US deeper into the great depression. And US GDP was already projected to fall by nearly 4% this past quarter, and that was before these tariffs. One expert said - For economists, the tariff spectacle currently coming out of the White House econ team is akin to watching NASA being taken over by astrologers and repurposing the International Space Station to charge magic healing crystals with moonbeams. It's called Liberation Day because he’s liberating you from your disposable income.

Here’s a detailed Nintendo Switch 2 console overview. The Switch 2 features approximately double the pixels compared to the original Switch, will support smooth gameplay up to 120fps, feature LCD HDR support, and the brand new Joy-Con 2 that attach magnetically. The Switch 2 SL and SR buttons are bigger, with larger control sticks. The Joy-Con 2 also support mouse features for compatible games. The Switch 2 console has two USB-C ports, handy for connecting a camera or charging in tabletop mode, along with improved speakers and audio. Switch 2 comes with 256GB of internal storage. Three special election races on Tuesday could provide an early indicator of President Donald Trump’s popularity just weeks into his second term, as well as insight into how Democratic messaging about his administration’s cuts to the federal government is playing with Americans in those states.

Voters in Florida’s 1st and 6th Congressional Districts will head to the polls to elect replacements in the House for Trump allies Matt Gaetz and Michael Waltz. Meanwhile, Wisconsin voters will elect a new member of the state Supreme Court, where liberals are defending a one-seat majority.

All three races present an opportunity to measure voters’ support for Trump and billionaire Elon Musk’s efforts to overhaul Washington. The president and his billionaire adviser have backed the conservative candidates in all three races — Musk and groups affiliated with him have pumped about $20 million into the Wisconsin race and, as reported by NBC News, a PAC connected to Musk has spent tens of thousands in both Florida races.
