The Strait of Hormuz has been effectively closed by Iran for almost four weeks – throwing global oil markets into chaos – and there is no clear end in sight. US President Donald Trump has touted diplomatic efforts to end Iran's blockade, while also moving to deploy thousands more troops to the Middle East and looking into possible US Navy escorts for oil tankers.

Iran has been laying traps and moving military personnel and air defenses to Kharg Island in preparation for a possible US operation to take control of the island, according to people familiar with US intelligence reporting. Talks between the United States and Iran are ongoing – though both sides are describing things very differently.

Dashers skip out on meal at downtown Omaha restaurant

Footgolf is a unique sport that combines elements of football (soccer) and golf. Instead of using clubs and a golf ball, players kick a standard soccer ball along a golf course, aiming to get it into oversized holes in as few kicks as possible.

The game is played on specially designed courses or adapted golf courses with shorter fairways and larger holes (usually about 50–53 cm in diameter). Just like in golf, each hole has a par, and players try to complete the course with the lowest total number of kicks.

Footgolf follows many of the same rules as traditional golf—such as taking turns based on who is farthest from the hole and avoiding obstacles like bunkers, trees, and water hazards. It requires accuracy, control, and strategy rather than speed or physical contact.

The sport is easy to learn, making it popular for people of all ages and skill levels. Since its rise in popularity in the early 2010s, footgolf has grown internationally, with organized tournaments and governing bodies like the Federation for International FootGolf overseeing competitions worldwide.

They run that photo through AI facial recognition software, and it matches with an innocent grandmother down in Tennessee (who has never even been to North Dakota). Imagine they just run with that AI match and issue an arrest warrant, without performing an actual investigation into whether the AI is correct… Angela Lipps was arrested at her home in Tennessee, jailed and extradited to Fargo, North Dakota. She sat in jail for months, with nobody even bothering to check and see if she was the actual suspect they’re looking for (she wasn’t).
