Whether you have damaged pins on an AMD AM4 processor, bent Intel motherboard socket contacts, an AM5 socket problem, a CPU that will not fit, missing RAM channels, boot loops, crashes, or a computer that refuses to start, bent CPU pins can cause serious hardware issues.

Bent CPU pins are one of the most stressful problems a PC builder can encounter. One twisted, flattened, misaligned, or broken pin may prevent the processor from seating correctly or stop the motherboard from detecting the CPU. Symptoms can include no display, memory errors, unstable performance, missing RAM slots, USB failures, PCIe problems, random shutdowns, or repeated boot cycles.

On many AMD Ryzen AM4 processors, the pins are located on the bottom of the CPU. These delicate PGA pins can bend if the processor is dropped, forced into the socket, stored without protection, shipped incorrectly, or pulled out with the cooler because thermal paste held it in place. Bent Ryzen pins are common during CPU upgrades, cooler replacements, motherboard swaps, shipping, and used computer part purchases.

Intel processors and AMD AM5 CPUs use an LGA design, meaning the fragile contact pins are inside the motherboard socket. Bent LGA socket pins can be harder to repair because the contacts are extremely small, closely spaced, and angled in a precise pattern. Dropping the CPU into the socket, touching the contacts, installing the processor incorrectly, or forcing the retention mechanism can damage the socket.

Common CPU pin repair tools include a mechanical pencil, sewing needle, precision tweezers, razor blade, thin straight edge, magnifying glass, microscope, bright work light, and phone camera zoom. The goal is to gently realign the damaged pin with the surrounding rows without snapping it. Never rush the repair. CPU pins weaken when bent repeatedly, and moving the same pin back and forth can cause it to break.

For PGA processor pins, inspect each row from multiple angles and look for pins that do not line up. A thin blade or straight edge can sometimes be placed carefully between rows to bring several pins back into alignment. A mechanical pencil tip may slide over one pin and help straighten it near the base. Precision tweezers can also work, but too much pressure may twist, flatten, or break the pin.

Before attempting bent CPU pin repair, disconnect power, unplug the computer, and work in a clean, static-safe area. Avoid touching electrical contacts with your fingers. Inspect the CPU and socket under strong light from several directions. Take close-up photos before making adjustments. Never force a processor into the socket. A compatible CPU should seat with little or no pressure when aligned correctly.

After straightening the pins, test the fit carefully. If the processor does not drop into place, remove it and inspect again. Do not use the socket lever to force a misaligned CPU down. Once installed, apply thermal paste, reinstall the cooler evenly, reconnect power, and try to boot. If the PC still does not POST, clear the CMOS, reseat the RAM, test one memory stick at a time, verify the CPU power connector, check motherboard debug LEDs, and inspect the repaired area again.

Bent CPU pins can imitate other computer hardware failures. A system with no display may appear to have a bad graphics card, faulty RAM, dead motherboard, weak power supply, or corrupted BIOS. Missing memory channels may look like a RAM problem, while unstable PCIe devices may resemble a GPU failure. Understanding the connection between CPU pins, memory controllers, PCIe lanes, power delivery, and motherboard communication can prevent unnecessary part replacement.

Errol Spence Jr’s return to boxing against Tim Tszyu will be available through DAZN pay-per-view and thus to DAZN Ultimate tier subscribers, along with Premier Boxing Champions’ usual Prime Video PPV home. The good news for those with DAZN’s Ultimate tier subscription is that they now have to pay nothing extra to easily and legally watch Spence vs Tszyu, which will air on Saturday, July 25.
Spence (28-1, 22 KO) will be fighting for the first time in three years, nearly to the day, after his 2023 loss to Terence “Bud” Crawford, which was a one-sided thrashing. The former welterweight titleholder is moving up to 154 lbs and going on the road to face Australia’s Tszyu (27-3, 18 KO), who is 3-3 in his last six fights but still has an ability to bring action. The undercard will feature another return, as Jermall Charlo comes back to face Koen Mazoudier, and a super featherweight bout between Stephen Fulton and Liam Wilson.

Tim Tszyu has cranked up the mind games ahead of his July 26 showdown with Errol Spence Jr in Sydney, suggesting the American is staring down a career-ending night. With just 25 days to go, Tszyu believes Spence’s long-awaited return from a near three-year layoff will end in brutal fashion – and be the final fight of his career. Spence is finally back after his 2023 defeat to Terence Crawford, stepping up to a new weight without a tune-up fight against what Roy Jones Jr this week described as a “highly dangerous” opponent. Tszyu, though, reckons the comeback won’t last long. “It’s the last hurrah for Errol Spence,” Tszyu told Ring Magazine. “Get in and watch his last fight.”

“The Truth” has spoken about looking forward to the trip Down Under, even discussing holiday destinations and life beyond boxing. Former world champion and commentator Sergio Mora believes that’s a red flag heading into a fight with Tszyu – and the Australian couldn’t agree more. “If he’s already talking about holidays and retirement plans, then this is his last goodbye,” said Tszyu. Tension between the pair has been simmering, with Spence sensationally refusing to shake Tszyu’s hand during a backroom encounter in Las Vegas in May.

Terence Crawford will be ringside to watch Errol Spence Jr’s comeback fight against Tim Tszyu. The fight marks Spence’s long-awaited return after three years out of the ring. The former unified welterweight champion has not fought since suffering the only defeat of his professional career, a ninth-round stoppage loss to Crawford in their undisputed showdown in 2023. Now 36, Spence moves up in weight to face Tszyu at a 158lb catchweight, having linked up with renowned trainer Ronnie Shields following the end of his long partnership with Derrick James. Tszyu enters the bout in far more active form. The Australian has rebuilt after consecutive defeats to Sebastian Fundora and Bakhram Murtazaliev, recording back-to-back victories. He will look to use the home crowd to his advantage. Speaking on The Porterway Podcast, ‘Bud’ confirmed that he would be in attendance for the fight and backing his former rival to win, something he has already told Tszyu. “I’mma be supporting Spence, rooting [for him]. I just like to support fighters … Of course [I’m picking Spence to win]. I told [Tsyzu] to his face.” Spence has admitted that he did consider retirement during his time off, and also that he may consider it again, win, lose or draw. Fans will be watching closely to see how he looks after such a long time out, with many already having written him off after injuries, lifestyle and a serious car accident. The fight takes place on July 25 at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia, with Jermall Charlo and Stephen Fulton booked for the undercard.

He is a former unified champion in the welterweight division, having held the World Boxing Association (WBA) (Super version), World Boxing Council (WBC), and International Boxing Federation (IBF) titles between 2017 and 2023. As an amateur, in the welterweight division, he won three consecutive United States national championships and represented the U.S. at the 2012 Olympics, where he reached the quarter-finals. In 2015, Spence was named Prospect of the Year by ESPN.

Roland Martin spoke with Nolan Wells’ parents, Christine and Elmore Wonsley, and Civil Rights Attorney Ben Crump about the unanswered questions surrounding the 18-year-old African American’s death after a July 4th boating trip with white friends. Christine and Elmore Wonsley said Nolan’s phone and car were in separate locations, that his hand was always attached to his phone, and that they do not believe he would have stayed behind on an island without communication. Ben Crump said alleged deleted Snapchat and text messages could be relevant, questioned conflicting accounts about whether Nolan stayed with a girl or was supposed to get back on the boat, and said the family wants a zealous search for the truth. Roland and the RMU panel pressed the evidence concerns, including the phone, possible deleted messages, chain of custody, and the sheriff’s premature “no foul play” posture.
