President Donald Trump addressed the nation Wednesday night, offering an update on the war in Iran during his first prime-time speech since launching strikes alongside Israel more than a month ago. With the speech, Trump was getting a wide audience to articulate clear objectives for the war that could attempt to reconcile weeks of changing goals and often contradictory messages about whether he’s winding down or ready to escalate military operations — even as Iran kept up its attacks on Israel and Persian Gulf neighbors and airstrikes pounded Tehran.

President Donald Trump addresses the nation about the war with Iran

NASA is aiming to launch its historic lunar flyby mission, Artemis II, as soon as 6:24pm ET on April 1. In the event of a delay, there are six additional windows for lift off on April 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 30.

The historic and risky lunar venture will mark the first time astronauts have returned to the vicinity of the moon in more than 50 years. The mission could break the distance record set by the Apollo program, traveling farther from Earth than any human ever has. The crew includes NASA’s Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover and Christina Koch along with the Canadian Space Agency’s Jeremy Hansen.

In Canada, 98% of gun owners basically said no to the government’s so-called buyback program.

And instead of backing off?

Now the conversation turns into police going door to door for collection.

That’s not a buyback.
That’s not voluntary.
That’s confiscation dressed up in softer language.
And this is exactly why gun owners never trust the line:
“Nobody’s coming for your guns.”

Because eventually the mask always comes off.

First it’s common sense.
Then it’s registration.
Then it’s bans.
Then it’s buybacks.
Then it’s door-to-door collection.

Michael Brewer spent 14 days in jail for a crime that was never even committed. He goes to a local gun store to buy a gun. The store employees run the routine NICS instant criminal background check, as per federal law. But there was apparently a mistake in Michael’s criminal record somewhere, making it look like he’s not allowed to possess, purchase, or even handle, a firearm. Days later he’s driving down the road and gets pulled over. He ends up getting arrested and going to jail. As he’s sitting in jail, his lawyer provides proof that they’ve made a mistake. But they ignore him.

The United States Army has officially raised its enlistment age limit to 42 from 35 and eased restrictions for people with marijuana convictions, a move that comes years after a period in which it struggled to meet its recruitment goals and as the country is engaged in a war with Iran.

The updated enlistment requirements, published last week, bring the service’s age requirements more in line with other branches of the military, including the Air Force, which raised its maximum age for recruits to 42 from 39 in 2023, and the Navy, which increased its age cap to 41 from 39 in 2022.

The updated requirements, which go into effect on April 20, also allow recruits with a single prior conviction of possession of marijuana or drug paraphernalia to forgo procuring a waiver from Army officials in order to enlist. Under the previous requirements, recruits with low-level marijuana convictions typically had to wait two or three years and pass a drug test to receive a waiver.

While the policy for the regulations was first issued in 2023, the Army codified it last week in a regulation, which is an official, mandatory policy document, the Army said in a statement.

Joe Borelli Defends Trump Calling Gavin Newsom "Stupid"

A Canadian journalist filmed the congestion of ships at the Strait of Hormuz from a civilian boat from the Iranian port city of Bandar Abbas.

Dimitri Lascaris, a renowned Canadian lawyer turned freelance journalist, said that he was able to observe the ships from the boat for about an hour before returning to shore.

Footage of the Strait of Hormuz is rare as attacks have occurred in the area and Iran has been able to control the flow of ships through the Strait. Lascaris said that there were Israeli drones in the sky, and it was not safe for observers to be out on the water for too long.

He added that the Strait is not closed, rather Iran has been able to control the flow of ships from both directions. Nearly a quarter of the world’s seaborne oil trade transits through the vital sea passage, with disruption caused by the war greatly affecting supply chains and oil and gas prices across the global economy.

President Donald Trump on Tuesday celebrated NASA’s Artemis II mission, which is set to send U.S. astronauts beyond low-Earth orbit for the first time in more than five decades.

The president released a statement ahead of the Artemis II mission launch. 

"Tonight at 6:24 P.M. EST, for the first time in over 50 YEARS, America is going back to the Moon! Artemis II, among the most powerful rockets ever built, is launching our Brave Astronauts farther into Deep Space than any human has EVER gone."
