The U.S. agreed to a two-week cease-fire with Iran to give time for diplomats to work out a lasting deal to halt the war. President Trump said the truce was conditional on Iran opening the Strait of Hormuz to shipping traffic, which had slowed to a crawl during the five-week war.

Iran also agreed to a two-week cease-fire and said it would allow “safe passage” through the strait, though only in coordination with the Islamic Republic’s navy and “with due consideration of technical limitations”—wording that analysts have interpreted as meaning the flow of vessels could be slowed or quickened on Tehran’s whim.

Trump has said a 10-point Iranian plan would form the basis for the talks, though he has also said that Iran has already agreed to many elements of a separate 15-point U.S. plan that calls for sweeping concessions by Tehran. Iran hasn’t released its proposal, but a 10-point plan published in state media included guarantees that the U.S. and Israel won’t attack, retaining control of the Strait of Hormuz, allowing Iran to enrich uranium, sanctions relief and the withdrawal of all U.S. combat forces from the Middle East.

Most of Iran’s demands have been called nonstarters for the U.S. and Israel. Iran has likewise called the U.S. plan, which calls for Iran to give up nuclear enrichment and accept limits on its missile arsenal, unacceptable.

LIVE: NASA coverage of Artemis II's return home

New details have emerged in a crash that left a motorcycle rider seriously injured.

Video obtained from a CBS12 viewer appears to show a Lantana man on a Kawasaki motorcycle speeding away as a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputy deploys a Taser. Moments later, the rider crashes into a white Volkswagen SUV and is thrown to the ground.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office says that before the crash, deputies attempted a traffic stop on the motorcyclist, who was allegedly driving recklessly. Deputies say the driver fled the parking lot of the Hypoluxo Food Mart and crossed over to Hypoluxo Road, where he lost control of his bike and fell onto the grass.

PBSO says deputies gave commands for the driver to comply with law enforcement and to stay off the bike, but the driver refused, leading to Taser deployment. Deputies say the driver made it about 15 yards before colliding with the white Volkswagen SUV.

Anthropic, the artificial intelligence company that recently fought the Pentagon over the use of its technology, has built a new A.I. model that it claims is too powerful to be released to the public.

Instead, Anthropic said on Tuesday, it will make the new model — known as Claude Mythos Preview — available to a consortium of more than 40 technology companies, including Apple, Amazon and Microsoft, which will use the model to find and patch security vulnerabilities in critical software programs.

Anthropic said it had no plans to release its new technology more widely, but was announcing the new model’s capabilities in one area in particular — identifying security vulnerabilities in software — in an effort to sound the alarm over what the company believes will be a new, scarier era of A.I. threats.

“The goal is both to raise awareness and to give good actors a head start on the process of securing open-source and private infrastructure and code,” Jared Kaplan, Anthropic’s chief science officer, said in an interview.

NATO Panics?! Chief Praises Trump

América hizo un trato. Israel lo rompió el mismo día.
Horas después del anuncio Israel lanzó más de 100 ataques sobre Líbano matando a más de 260 personas. Irán cerró el Estrecho y los petroleros que habían empezado a moverse dieron marcha atrás.
Luego escaló. Los Emiratos atacaron una refinería iraní e Irán respondió golpeando oleoductos emiratíes y saudíes. Uno fue construido para evitar el Estrecho si la ruta quedaba bloqueada.
El canciller iraní fue claro. América debe elegir entre el alto el fuego y la guerra a través de Israel. No puede tener ambas. Irán le dijo a Pakistán que no asistirá a Islamabad hasta que los ataques sobre Líbano cesen completamente.
Netanyahu dijo que sus objetivos no habían terminado. El uranio saldría de Irán mediante un acuerdo o mediante guerra renovada.
La Casa Blanca confirmó que Líbano nunca fue parte del alto el fuego. La UE, Reino Unido, Francia y Alemania exigieron aplicar el cese al fuego incluyendo Líbano.
El trato no ha muerto aún. Pero Israel está haciendo todo lo posible para matarlo.
