Kash Patel stopped the investigation into Renee Good cause it’d be bad optics for Trump.
Hours after Renee Good was shot multiple times in her SUV by ICE, a federal prosecutor requested a search warrant for her vehicle. That’s a standard first step for civil rights investigations, especially one where an officer used force. The next step would be teaming up with the FBI.
But just one week later, the FBI was handed the order to stop – after they’d already obtained that warrant. And reportedly it came directly from the top – from FBI Director Kash Patel, who was scared evidence found in Good’s SUV would clash with Trump’s version of events:
That Good was a maniac who “violently, willfully, and viciously ran over the ICE Officer.” Then the DOJ’s top brass suggested instead investigating Good’s wife, which in turn, led to six federal prosecutors in Minnesota resigning.
And now all of that may have made the problem Trump claims he was trying to solve in Minnesota worse. Right, he claimed Somalian fraudsters were running rampant. But now, the state’s federal attorney’s office is understaffed and in crisis mode – This as it prepares to tackle cases involving the assassination of state Rep. Melissa Hortman and investigations in fentanyl trafficking that could just now unravel…
So much for the president who wants to keep drugs off the streets.
