Many social media users from several countries across the globe swarmed platforms such as X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and Facebook, with the hashtag "#StrikeForGaza." A user on Musk's X wrote, "Share, support & solidarity for humanity and freedom. To stop the genocide in which the Palestinian people are subjected." Another shared, "Stand for humanity, Stand for children! Gaza is being destroyed, you don’t have to be Muslim to stand with Palestine." According to Al Jazeera, a global strike requests people to halt "all aspects of public life," including school and work. Other than refraining from going out into public spaces like restaurants and parks, several individuals are also avoiding making online orders. Since the start of the war on Oct. 7, 2023, the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza has resulted in the killing of at least 50,600 Palestinians and injuring more than 115,063 (including women and children), with the numbers rising due to recent bombardments.
